  • there is no limit to the number of tourists who can visit Bhutan in one year
  • a single-entry tourist visa is required to visit Bhutan. New rules for tourism in Bhutan have been in place since September 2022. Under these new rules, each tourist was required to pay a special fee of USD 200,- per day of stay. This fee is primarily for building infrastructure to serve the tourists. No services are included in this fee. In addition, there is an obligation to hire a guide for each group of tourists. One guide is available for a maximum of 10 tourists. The fee is payable at the time of visa application. Detailed rules are available from licensed tourist offices.
  • As of June 2023, the fee has been modified to USD 100,- per person per day.This modification is valid until the end of 2025.
  • Entry to Bhutan is possible either by air or by land. By air, the entry point is Paro airport. Paro Airport has air connections to India( New Delhi,Baghdora,Bogdgaya, Kolkata,Guhawati), Thailand(Bangkok), Singapore/Changi Airport), Nepal(Kathmandu) and Bangladesh(Dhaka). During Pandemic COVID-19 these connections are limited. The land entries are Phuentsholing, Smdrup, Jonghar and Gelephu.
